A Queue for the Loo

We have been trying to get an accessible indoor toilet at St. Mary the Virgin, Stapleford Abbotts for as long as people can remember.

Finally, the plans have been agreed and the builder is raring to go.

All we need now is £80,000. We are applying for grants but are asking for any help towards the cost.

We are a grade 2 listed church open every day as an oasis of peace and prayer in a rural setting but within the M25.

Weekly services, concerts, a flower festival and open days are all in the timetable, but we could offer so much more to a wider range of people if the toilet was in place.

We are happy to provide more information. Please phone 01992-523849 or give by clicking on this link.

BUG HOTEL

St. Mary’s Stapleford Abbotts were pleased to welcome members from Essex Wildlife Trust and “The Linkup Flying Squad”  who along with church volunteers built a Bug Hotel in the church yard.

It was all constructed with unwanted materials, kindly donated from various sources. The aim is that Bumble Bees and Solitary Bees which are declining in numbers, along with other invertebrates will use the hotel and find it a suitable habitat. The first residents are eagerly awaited!
